He is the one who guided America amidst its Civil war, one of the most deadly wars that America has ever fought. By the end of his reign he was able to protect the Unions, gut out slavery, give power to the federal government, and helped modernize the economy.
His life’s journey is what made him such a respectable man and a revered leader. At one point, He was kicked by a horse on the head and slipped in to a coma for some times. He recovered soon afterwards but had to suffer from personal insecurities and had to fight them off continuously. In the same year, his mother died and he remained motherless at the age of 9.
He was very close to his mother, and because of his severe health conditions due to coma, it was very difficult for him to cope with such a massive loss. He had to leave his studies in order to support his family after his mother’s demise and it took him long to completely recover from her loss. It is said that it was the early hardships he faced that strengthened his character, but even till the end, behind the armor of strength lay a very sensitive man who had to fight to make his way in the world
His route to political success came after a business he started with a partner went down the drain and cost him a debt of $1100. His first steps in to politics were shaky as he lost the first community elections that he took part in. But he knew that the key to success is persistence, and he remained loyal to his mission and ended his political career in a remarkable political finale; as the president of the United States.
