[dropcap]J[/dropcap]im Carrey was born as James Eugene “Jim” Carrey on 17th January 1962. He is a Canadian- American actor, stand-up comedian, screenwriter and producer. Carrey has been awarded two Golden Globe Awards. He is known for his energetic performances and is known as one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
Carrey’s drive for success stems from the many challenges that he had to face in his childhood. He did not come from a well-established family. His family had a lot of trouble when it came to making ends meet so much so that he failed to complete High School as he was trying hard to support his family economically. But even with all the economic uncertainty that he lived by, he remained true to his one core potential; acting. He continued to support his family by doing various jobs and at the same time trying to find work as an actor.
He finally got his first break when he secured his first well known role as a recurring appearance in 1990 in the comedy series “In Living Color”. He is also known as a star in a huge variety of films that received recognition and applause from the audiences. Some of his most well-known films are Dumb and Dumber, The Mask and Batman Forever. The Truman Show and Man on the Moon both earned him the Golden Globe award for Best Actor.
In 2000 he gained even more fame when he starred as Grinch in How Grinch Stole Christmas and in 2003 he played Bruce in Bruce Almighty. In 2004, he played a role in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. One of his most recent roles was in Mr. Poppers Penguins in 2011 and The Incredible Burt Wonder stone in 2013.
In 2013 he also secured a role in Kick Ass 2 and played the role of Colonel Stars and Stripes. But two months before the movie could be released, he got out of it. It was considered quite controversial. On Twitter he posted a statement saying that he could not support the level of violence shown in the movie in light of the recent events at Sandy Hook Elementary. In November 2014 he was seen in the movie Dumb and Dumber To. Carrey is a man with many talents and well-loved for the way he brings comedy and magic to his works.
